We've had our van for over a year now. We decided it was time go ahead and buy a van when we added a third carseat to the backseat of our car. Saying it was crowded was an understatement. It was almost tough to shut the doors! So we got our first "family" vehicle. But, as with most used vehicles, it came with a problem. DUN, Dun, dun...
This problem wasn't obvious when we purchased it in the coolness of the early spring. However, it became a glaringly obvious problem in the blistering heat of the summer. No air conditioning!
Despite the sometimes hair-raising quarreling that takes place in the backseat of our car among the three children in their three squeezed-in carseats, we are very grateful. Our van helps me just fine to travel in those cooler months as I take the kids to various activities. We do have two vehicles which means we have the car to drive us places in the summer without anyone melting. ☺ We have no other major vehicle complaints which is a huge blessing because some things can't just be ignored like the air conditioning issue. And, for that matter, I am just plain thankful for the summer. The warm weather, greenery and flowers, fun activities, and sunshine are all things to be thankful for. We REALLY are thankful for having air conditioning in our home too. All it takes is one (or, more than one in our case) instance of having no air conditioning in your home to never take the air conditioning for granted!
